Tuesday race

We had a nice evening for a gentle race, and the first of the new members' participation. Louise took the plunge and came along to join us. Bill took the role of race officer and set a short course: X, F, C, and A all to starboard. After some rummaging around in the spar store, we found all the connecting parts to get a club laser set up for Louise. Dennis, Helen and Erwin, together with Louise, sailed the course for 2 rounds before Bill sounded the hooter. Helen was the fastest after Bill calculated the handicaps, followed by Dennis, who pipped Erwin to second place by a whisker. Louise did not complete the course but had a great time and kept up with the rest. A few more races and she will be a contender to look out for.
