Looking Back: The June 6th Skiff Taster Session at Forfar Loch
On Saturday, 6th of June, Forfar Sailing & Watersports Club officially kicked off its summer "Try Skiffing" series with a fantastic morning session from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
The event brought together a wonderful mix of locals eager to try something new, completely embodying the clubs welcoming "just turn up and give rowing a go" philosophy. With no booking or prior experience required, the morning was all about breaking down barriers and introducing the community to the joys of the St Ayles skiff.
A Perfect Morning on the Water
The 6th of June session offered a little bit of everything for everyone who headed down to the club.
A Warm Welcome: True to the club's promise, all ages and fitness levels were welcomed with open arms by the regular crew.
Finding the Right Pace: Newcomers weren't just thrown into a one-size-fits-all routine. Instead, they got a true taste of the variety of skiffing. Some opted for the gentle, scenic "nature and lazy rows" to take in the loch's wildlife.
Fresh Air & New Friends: Beyond the rowing itself, the morning highlighted the great social opportunities the club is known for, bringing together outdoor enthusiasts for a morning of shared effort and plenty of laughs.
The success of the June 6th session set a brilliant tone for the rest of the summer. If you missed out on this one, don't worry—the poster shows the club has more open mornings lined up for July 4th and August 1st to keep the momentum going!.
