What do we sail
Forfar Loch, is an ideal setting ideal for small, agile watercraft. Due to its size and depth, the loch is best suited for lightweight, manoeuvrable boats, making it perfect for dinghy sailing, The loch is not suitable for larger vessels.
As a designated Nature Reserve, Forfar Loch maintains a peaceful environment where wildlife thrives. To preserve this serenity, powered craft are not permitted on the water, with the exception of specific safety boats used during club activities. This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all water users.
Forfar Sailing & Watersports Club embraces a diverse range of dinghies, welcoming sailors of all ages and skill levels. From the compact 7ft Optimist to the more spacious 21ft Laser 2000, a variety of dinghies can be seen gliding across the loch,
Our club fleet, which can be hired, includes popular single-handed boats like Toppers, Lasers, and Fevas as well as double-handed Wayfarers. reflecting the inclusive and versatile nature of our club.
