Sunday race report

A bright sunny day welcomed the six racers to the water, the wind was, well it was just a Forfar wind, challenging, shifty SE to SW and variable in strength 2-3ish.
The course was G, K, both to port then D, C and A to starboard.
Erwin in the Solo and Dennis in the Solution both made a good start but Dave Smith passed both in his Firefly only to overstand the first mark in the shifty conditions, leaving Erwin to make the first mark in the lead, Dennis fought back and took the lead on the run down to D both being followed by Dave, Becci in the Enterprise, Sebastian in the Laser Radial and Mark in the Feva.
There was close sailing in the main body of the fleet and at the end of the first leg, Dennis led Dave, Sebastian, Erwin Becci and Mark.
The second beat to G saw Sebastian sail well to overtake Dave while Denis pulled away from the main fleet which were enjoying some close racing.
The third and last leg saw the whole fleet close up at the G mark but Dennis again managed to open up the distance but some of the others managed to stay just close enough to beat him on corrected time.
The final result showed a well-deserved win for Sebastian followed by Dave, Mark, Erwin, Dennis and Becci.
The second race was sailed in similar conditions but with a few hard gusts added for interest. Mark swapped the Feva for a Laser Radial, Eoghan took charge of the Solo from Erwin and Sebastian tried the Streaker.
Denis crossed the start line first followed by Dave, Mark, Becci, Eoghan and Sebastian.
Dennis broke away as the rest of the fleet bunched up at the first mark following a difficult first beat.
At the end of the first leg, Dennis led Dave, Sebastian, Becci, Eoghan and Mark and went on to consolidate his lead until making contact with the spit which unfortunately forced him to retire to check for damage.
The rest of the fleet fought a close race with Dave breaking away to finish a clear first on the water. The corrected time result was Dave, Sebastian, Eoghan, Becci and Mark.
