Midsummer fun regatta
A fantastic whole day event for the whole club to enjoy. From mid morning the skiffs, along with visiting clubs will be taking part in a mini fun regatta. We aim to have around 6 boats on the water. Following some friendly competition with lots of nonsense, the sailors will take to the water for a race of their own. Some of the visiting skiffs will then pack up their boats and some may choose to stay for our mid summer evening on the water.
There will be a catering van joining us from 4-7pm and we are encouraging everyone to stay and eat with us, even the visiting clubs have their invite to stay.
The order of the day will be as follows:
Visitors arrive any time from 10am
11am - First race - loch scavenger hunt.
Second race - 2km race
Third race - the T-flag race
If there is time to fit some sprints in we will
3pm Skiffs off the water, sailors racing
4-7pm - hot food available to purchase (a sample menu and pricelist will be available closer to the time)
As usual at Forfar during the day there will be tea/coffee and traybakes available for a donation in the clubhouse
Throughout the evening there will be social and rowing and sailing using as much of the summer solstice to our benefit.
We are looking for support and participation on all of the above events. There will soon be the opportunity to book in if you haven't already done so, volunteer your time, or bring along some tasty treats. Individual posts will follow for each with more details. We are in a transition phase between whatsapp booking sheets and the website, but we will make it work.
