Six boats started on Tuesday 5 August into a light easterly wind. Graeme Knox collided with Craig Knox (Lasers) at the start and both immediately found themselves at the back of the fleet.
Jim Green (Solo) and Brian Finnie (Europe) kept formation for the first leg until Brian broke clear. Peter Tait continued to enjoy these conditions and with a new sail kept well ahead of the main pack. At the finish the red hulled Heron of Graham Topping claimed another first, Peter, despite being a considerable distance ahead, was second while Graeme somehow clawed ahead of Brian to take third.

On Thursday 7th the second weekday race was held in very similar conditions to the first. The red hulled Heron was first away with cadet Eilidh McMinn in control while Graham Topping tutored and pulled the jib sheets. Next off was Jim Green in his Solo, a minute ahead of Brian Finnie' Europe and another two minutes later the Lasers of Craig and Graeme Knox. Brian was on form and held on to stay ahead of the Lasers and pull ahead of the Solo and the Heron to get to the front in good time for the finish. The remaining places were closely determined. Graeme Knox, closing in on Brian, was second, Jim Green third by a short way to Craig and despite it being her first race Eilidh had only been overtaken by less than a minute or 2 by the others.
