Eight hour race shortened to six hours

Bad timing over a holiday period and horrible weather colluded, and in a pale shadow of former times only 3 boats entered for the annual Eight Hour race. As the wind dropped and millpond conditions became inevitable the race was shortened by agreement to 6 hours and will possibly be renamed the Endurance Race!

More light winds for evening series

Six boats started on Tuesday 5 August into a light easterly wind. Graeme Knox collided with Craig Knox (Lasers) at the start and both immediately found themselves at the back of the fleet.

Holidays affect Forfar sailing

Although Tuesday sailing has been popular there were only 4 boats at the start on 29th July, possibly because many people, including the designated race officer, were on holiday!
